As you may have read, I have a soft spot for Hello Kitty, the kawaii white cat with the red bow on her ear. I am also very fond of her noble predecessor Maneki Neko (Beckoning Cat).
The lucky sculpture (like Hello Kitty) is traditionally a white Japanese bobtail cat with one paw (or sometimes both) held aloft. You can often see him in Chinese and Japanese stores and restaurants beckoning the customers in.
I have my own growing collection; they are just so cute I cannot resist!
